Welcome

Welcome to the new website for A’Nead Hand Knitwear located on the Isle of Eigg in the Scottish Inner Hebrides in Scotland. On the website you will find details of the products I make and details how to order them. Currently I have in stock a small  selection of the different hand knitted garments that I make using only the finest wool from Jamieson & Smith on Shetland or from gossamer silk. Mostly, articles are knitted to order, making them more personal. If you are interested in the fine hand knitted garments that I produce then please get in touch on the Contact Us page. Also, if you would like to give some-one a gift but are not sure of colour or design, you can give them a gift token so they can choose their own. Get in touch from the Contact Us page to request this as well. I can supply a hard copy of the voucher if you would prefer this to a digital voucher.

I have recently started spinning my own cobweb yarn, which means I can now offer a much wider range of colours and types of wool I use for the cobweb items. I have just returned from collecting my own wheel from Rod Grant who makes beautiful wheels from local wood. The photo below is of my wheel. It spins beautifully and is so obviously made with love. A big thank you goes out to HI-Arts for their assistance in building my business.

There will be weekly craft fairs in the Community Hall on Eigg from Monday, 4th June from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. There will be an exciting range of crafts, all made on the Island, for sale, as well as refreshments. For more information, visit the Isle of Eigg website
